Description
Original Sneak A Toke also known as a Bullet Pipe
The Original Sneak A Toke pipe with rubber mouthpiece, also called a Bullet Pipe, was the first in our line of stealth smoking pipes back in 1976. Of course, we’ve updated it and made it better since then. It’s a pocket-sized metal stealth pipe, often called a one hitter, that puts itself out after every hit. Today, 50 years and an estimated 2 million Sneak A Tokes later, it’s made in the USA and sold direct by its inventor. Furthermore, our dry herb cartridges fit the pipe. You can see a video about using the herb cartridges on our YouTube channel.
- The Original Sneak A Toke is our FIRST self-extinguishing, stealth smoking pipe.
- High quality piece straight from its inventor, not a cheap imitation.

- Smooth bowl with no interior threads for easy cleaning.
- Comes in 6 different colors.
- Will accept our innovative Dry Herb Cartridge for easy cleaning and refilling. Add them at checkout.

How to Tell an Original Sneak A Toke From a Knockoff
We never trademarked the name, so lots of imported copies are sold as “Sneak A Tokes” today. Here’s what Ted Borden, who invented the original, says to look for:
- The cap. A genuine Sneak A Toke has a bullet-shaped cap that flows smoothly into the bowl.
- The threads. Ours are fine, precision-machined threads. Most copies have coarse threads on the inside of the bowl, where they cake up with residue, and their caps wobble side to side.
- The knurl. Many knockoffs stamp a knurled grip around the cap, copying our 1976 design. You don’t need one: the cap only needs to be screwed down gently.
- The mouthpiece grip. Many copies shorten the part of the bowl that holds the mouthpiece to save metal, so the mouthpiece loosens over time.
- The screens. Only the Original comes with custom-fitted, heavy-duty coarse brass mesh screens. Copies use standard thin 5/8″ wire screens that are hard to install.
Ted has never had a knockoff lab tested. This is based on his own experience, not a lab report.
How to Use Your Sneak A Toke Bullet Pipe
- Unscrew the cap. If your pipe is new, push one of the included custom-sized screens down to the bottom of the bowl.
- Grind your smoking material into a consistent pile of flakes.
- Fill the bowl. Some people like to pack it tight, but Ted prefers filling it to the top and packing it loosely for a smoother, better burn.
- Screw the cap back on gently, just until you feel slight resistance. No need to crank it down.
- Put the mouthpiece between your lips and draw while holding a Bic-type lighter to the hole in the cap. Start with small puffs; it can hit hard!
When you’re done, just drop it in your pocket. It puts itself out.
We are now offering colored mouthpieces, the same color as your pipe. Only $1 more.

Materials: Solid aluminum pipe, precision-turned in the Chicago area and anodized to add final color, with FDA approved silicone rubber mouthpiece, also molded in the Chicago area.
Dimensions: 2 3/8″ long x 3/4″ wide. Bowl is approximately 5/8″ deep.
Weight: 15.5 grams (empty).
How to Clean Your Sneak A Toke
- Unscrew the cap and scrape as much built-up residue as you can from the inside walls of the bowl.
- Poke out the screen from the mouthpiece side with a piece of wire coat hanger or a 1/8″ wood dowel.
- Pull off the rubber mouthpiece.
- Soak the cap and body overnight in enough rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol to cover them. A clean margarine tub with a lid works great. Keep the lid on, since alcohol evaporates quickly.
- In the morning, hold the parts under hot running water. A toothpick helps loosen any baked-on bits still stuck to the walls.
- Let the parts air dry or pat them dry with a paper towel. Push the mouthpiece back on and insert a fresh screen.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does it put itself out?
The lighting hole in the cap and the draw hole are both small, so as soon as you stop drawing, the contents are starved of oxygen and go out. That’s why you can drop it straight into your pocket.
Is the Sneak A Toke a one hitter?
People often call it one, but a full bowl gives you more than a single hit. It puts itself out between each one.
Is it smell-proof?
No pipe is completely smell-proof. Because the Sneak A Toke puts itself out, it doesn’t keep smoldering in your pocket. For the least smell, keep it in a sealed bag or case.
When should I replace the screen?
When it gets noticeably harder to draw smoke. Pick up replacement heavy-duty brass screens here or at checkout.
When should I replace the rubber mouthpiece?
When it looks worn. A quick look will tell you. Replacement mouthpieces come in packs of 3, 6 or 10.
Is there a model with a bigger lighting hole?
Yes! The High Efficiency Sneak A Toke has a much larger lighting hole with a stainless steel perforated disc, plus swappable cartridges. Ted calls it his “magnum opus.”
What if I’m not happy with it?
If you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, contact us and we’ll make it right. If it arrives damaged, send us a photo and we’ll replace it or give you a refund. See our Return and Refund Policy.

I have been using this style pipe for a long time. I had no idea that I had purchased knock offs at head shops and really glad I came to the source for a superior pipe. The newer way the metal is cut on the back holds the mouth piece on place very well.

The original is the best! The threads are on the outside of the bowl so they don’t get caked up.

I have the original toker from the 80s and I decided that it was time to replace it; I’m so pleased with the new one. I didn’t think that you could improve it, but you did, and the accessories are fantastic.

I had my 1st Sneak A Toke for years. I have been very happy with my new one! I love the cartridge system! I went with the original over the stealth only because the lack of info on the vinyl lid. I have never heard of this as a material in a pipe and was unsure how healthy that is. Love the updated original though!
TED BORDEN (store manager) –
The vinyl that you are referring to is not part of the smoking process. They are the caps for the spare Cartridge(s) to allow you to carry a full Cartridge to swap
out with a used up one or if you have more than one strain, to quickly switch strains during a ‘sesh’.

I’ve been through many of these types of bullets and these don’t draw well. I think the whole is too small. Having said that these are made very well. Not cheap like most. I like the threads on the outside and the screens are superior. Just disappointed in the draw and thats what its all about!!

Thank you for your feedback. You might consider our new High Efficiency Sneak A Toke. It has a much larger hole in front for lighting.
